We were fortunate enough to stumble across the music of Restive in the Open Source Audio section of the archive, and immediately became fascinated with the sounds and approach used by the artist. After some contact on Myspace, we were pleased to find the music of Restive amenable to being rereleased on Timetheory, and of his many sonic space journals, #14 was selected to be presented here.
Little can be said about the music on "Captured Borbs..." that is not made amply clear by the evocative titles and the crystal clean sweeps and sounds.
"Restive" is in fact a very accurate word to describe the sound, and though "worship the glitch" may the motto of Restive, listeners will find no shortage of other altars to lay their cookies upon. Once you have had the chance to give his music, and this album, a thorough listen, you may find yourself somewhat religiously devoted.
